What do you think is the most significant barrier to female leadership?

Their ability to change their mindset and make compromises. Most women, settle back into their socially evolved role around mid career. This restricts their movement in demanding leadership positions. If you are an aspiring female leader, it's important to know your strengths. Here are three things that you come to the table with, Emotional Intelligence, being the best requires emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is about being able to read and identify emotions - something that comes naturally to women. This is especially helpful when in a leadership position. Your top talent will thank you. Problem solving. We consider more options, weight more variables, and consider contextual perspective when faced with an issue. Communication. Great leadership requires great communication skills. Women are naturally great verbal communicators.

What is one event that helped shape your life?

I can name several events that has shaped my life but I will name only one, the Mien Pageant. Yes, the Mien Pageant. Although the mien pageant wasn’t big and I competed against only two other contestants & there was only about 500+ people. It was kind of a big thing behind scene, taking my time off on things, practicing & getting my full knowledge on what I wanted out to the public. Very few people will go out to the public to let their voice be heard for a change. Shockingly, i over came my fear and I did it. Something I would never do! & yes its weird to say it kind of shape my life, but it gave me more strength on publicizing my voice!

What’s one of the toughest decisions you’ve had to make and how did it impact your life?

One of the toughest decisions I’ve ever made was deciding on running my own business or not. Thankfully, I decided & yes! I did it. It has impacted my WHOLE entire life. I am only 20 and this has changed me ever since. I have matured more & I honestly see alot. What is an accomplishment you are proud of? I can officially say that I’ve accomplished on owning my own restraunt at the age of 20 from sweat, tears, & stress.

If there was a young girl out there who wanted to do what you did, what would you tell her?

I would tell her to not LISTEN to anybody, yes people will tell you it’s IMPOSSIBLE, but nothing is IMPOSSIBLE if you don’t keep on trying to make it POSSIBLE! You are doing it for YOU & no one else so don’t listen to any judgmental people who are just simply negative! Anything is possible if you don’t give up, go big & dont go home. Live to the fullest extent! You only have one life to live and I promise you! I use to feel like i had nothing and i wasn’t going to get where i needed to be in life to succeed, but don’t worry! It takes time!!!
